What can we
expect at
The Genesis Church?
What will my first visit be like?
Certainly not "church as usual." Depending on your past religious experiences, we hope that your visit to The Genesis Church will be a refreshing, God-filled experience. Our worship experiences are fun, relevant and loaded with worship, the Word and the presence of God's Spirit. We also like to use all kinds of creative arts and media to worship and teach the Word including: video, music, creative set designs, thought provoking Bible teaching and humor.
What should I wear?
We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you're joining us and want you to be more focused on the worship than what you're wearing. Here at Genesis, it's not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt, while others prefer to still put on their "Sunday best," and that's fine too! We think you'll fit in no matter how you dress. God isn't concerned with what you have on, and neither are we!
Where do I take my kids?
You will see clearly marked signs, and our awesome Youth/Children Ministry staff will help you find
"The Garden" or "GenOne" check-in areas. These ministries are for kids from in Nursery/Pre-K & 5-10 years of age, respectively. We try to make it easy and safe for both parents and kids. We have no doubt, once your kids arrive and get checked-in, they'll have an amazing time learning about Jesus!
Do you have anything for preteens and teens?
Absolutely! "nextGEN" & "AFTERSHOCK" are the places to be for Middle School and High School students. They meet on the 2nd & 4th Sundays the month for fun, learning, group discussions, activities, kickbacks & events. We believe that the Lord is doing something wonderful with our teens- they are being led to connect with God in a real way and their lives are being changed.

All kinds of ministries, classes, monthly groups, events and outreach programs. Be sure to check out all the MINISTRIES we offer.
Is The Genesis Church affiliated with a national convention?
We’re a part of local AND national bodies of our denomination. However, we are Christians first, and we’re just a body of people committed to being the church that Christ described in the Bible. If you want to know what we believe, check out WHAT WE BELIEVE. We are, however, a member locally of the Union Baptist Association & the Baptist General Convention of Texas AND a member of the National Baptist Convention, USA of churches, which is a Baptist organization of thousands of churches across the country who are committed to using innovative ways to connect people who are far from God with His love for them.
Will I be pressured to give in several different offerings?
No. We aren't inviting you to The Genesis Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope that you will find our ministry a warm and friendly place. We want you to receive truth from God’s Word, and grow in God’s grace. Our offering is always voluntary, and there is no pressure. We believe that God will use those connected to The Genesis Church to provide for our present and growing vision for ministry willingly.

Located?
The Genesis Church is located 11 miles from Downtown Houston, and just a 30 minute drive from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), the 6th largest airport system in the world. The ministry is located in the southern sector of Harris County, and is surrounded by the unique shopping & dining opportunities of Pearland, Sunnyside, South Park & William P. Hobby Airport (HOU)!

What does
The Genesis Church believe?
We BELIEVE and TEACH:
IN THE ONE TRUE GOD, all powerful, all knowing, all present - Creator of all things seen and unseen, who has revealed Himself in three distinct, yet unified personalities; God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.
IN JESUS CHRIST the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin, yet truly God. He is the Redeemer sent by God, who died as a ransom for our sins, was raised up from the grave in power, ascended into glory and sits upon the right hand of God interceding for His Body...the Church.
IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, the Divine personality sent to minister in the Name of Jesus, as the continuing presence of Christ in the world. The Holy Spirit is Comforter, Guide, Sustainer, Protector of the Church and dwells within for Salvation; upon us for Empowerment, and flows outward in an irresistible witness of Jesus Christ.
THE HOLY SCRIPTURES are the written revelation of the will and purpose of God and are the ultimate rule of faith and order in the Church.
It is the will of God that all men and women be SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH in Jesus Christ and be FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT for power and victorious living.
HEALING is provided for in the redemptive plan of God and is available for every believer.
PROSPERITY is provided for in the redemptive plan of God and is available for every believer.
THE CHURCH is the Body of Christ and consists of all those who have received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord of their lives.
In WATER BAPTISM as a sign of obedience and regeneration and the observance of the LORDS SUPPER as a sign of a continuing remembrance of the suffering and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus.
There shall be a BODILY RESURRECTION of the believer and unbeliever.
In the RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH and the personal, visible, imminent, return of Jesus Christ.
Will I fit in
at The
Genesis Church?
The Genesis Church is not an exclusive club, and our focus is not on our "image" or "brand". Our church knows no boundaries, and we reach out in love to everyone that God cares about. That's EVERYONE! On TEAM GENESIS you will find every type of person! We are an ethnically, educationally, chronologically & economically diverse people, empowered by the Holy Spirit. We strive to be a community of faith and service to all who are in need of the love of Jesus Christ. That's a long way of saying whether you are black, brown or white, American born or foreign born, affluent or not, young or old, highly educated or not....you are precious in God's sight and in the heart, mind and vision of TEAM GENESIS! All are welcome here. If you believe that only "certain people" are special, and you like the solitary sameness of those exactly like yourself, you won't like this place!
